The Parkland Crisis Centre & Women’s Shelter provides services to those experiencing violence and gender-based violence in the Dauphin and throughout the Parkland Region, in Manitoba.
- The Parkland Crisis Centre in 1 of 10 provincially funded shelters in Manitoba.
- Manitoba has some of the highest rates of Gender Based Violence in the Canada, but one of the most under-reported crimes
- In Manitoba, this past year, Women’s Shelters provided over 18,000 crisis calls were answered, 2,500 clients were provided with support, including shelter, over 10,000 counselling sessions for clients and over 40,000 bed night accommodations were provided.
- The Parkland Crisis Centre & Women’s Shelter offers:
- Safe, short-term emergency shelter for women and their children
- Crisis intervention (in-person or on crisis line)
- Emotional support
- Individual and group counselling
- Information and referrals
- Essential transportation
- And follow-up services

Checking Ball Announcement
$10,000 to the Kin Canada Disaster Relief Fund
- Donation will be added to Kin Canada and other supporting Clubs in support of Canadian Red Cross
- The Red Cross currently has boots on the ground assisting people in and around the affected areas in Atlantic Canada and Eastern Quebec
- They are carrying out relief, recovery, resiliency, and risk reduction activities at the individual and community levels
- Due to a Government of Canada donation matching program, the donation will be doubled
