Featured Charity – Winnipeg Pet Rescue

  • The Winnipeg Pet Rescue is Manitoba’s first registered charity no-kill animal shelter that helps animals throughout Manitoba by providing a euthanasia-free environment while they await their forever home.

  • The animals often arrive at the Shelter injured, requiring surgeries, extensive vet care and rehabilitation before they can be placed up for adoption.

  • The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter is 100% Donor Supported. They receive no Government funding on any level and rely solely on donations from the public and organizations such as Kinsmen Jackpot Bingo.

  • On December 3rd the shelter has moved to a new location at the Courts of St. James, Unit 12-2727 Portage Avenue

  • There will be a Grand Opening and Christmas Open House at the new location on December 10th.  Winnipeg Pet Rescue will be giving out will be prizes and refreshments and welcome everybody to come down and celebrate their new shelter.

  • The Shelter also has an abundance of pet supplies, from leashes to fashionable clothing for your furry friend and are able to create custom Christmas Baskets this holiday season.

$10,000 Donation to Support ADAM (Anxiety Disorders Association of Manitoba)

  • ADAM plays a very important role in the community by providing accessible, effective peer support
    services for people with anxiety disorders, as well as resources for employers, educators,
    community organizations, parents of children with anxiety, and the general public.
  • Their services complement the formal health care system and fill an important stop-gap in what is already a frequently overwhelmed service area. 
  • The organization has extensive experience in offering programs and services to help people learn how to manage symptoms of anxiety and address the thought processes that contribute to their anxiety.
  • Winnipeg Kinsmen supports the organization’s mission to reduce the impact of anxiety disorders on the lives of all Manitobans
  • Due to the pandemic, they have been unable to host their primary fundraiser, a gala dinner. Funds donated by Winnipeg Kinsmen will help ADAM to continue to offer services and programs without interruption or cut-backs
