50th Ball Charity to Highlight
Charity – Manitoba Camping Association
- The Manitoba Camping association is a local charity that assists underserved families of Manitoba by subsidizing the cost of an overnight summer camp experience for children during July and August.
- The Sunshine Fund began in 1979 and has assisted over 30,000 Manitobans since inception and has provided the opportunity for children to build their self-confidence and try new things such as archery, horseback riding and fishing.
- Last year, the Manitoba Camping Association’s Sunshine Fund was able to subsidize a summer camp experience for 403 children in our province. They are hoping to give 600 children this experience in summer with your help.
- The average cost is $450 per child for a week of overnight summer camp experience, children benefit from summer camp because of the sense of community, belonging along with new and lasting friendships
