    • At 15 years old, Cody Baptiste might just be the youngest firefighter in Manitoba
      • Cody and his brother Brody are from Berens River, a community that was ravaged with smoke and wildfires last month
      • Over 2,000 residents were sent to Winnipeg and Brandon to stay safe, living in hotels since July
      • Cody and Brody, who is 17, were called to action to help fight the fires when they got out of hand
      • The brothers spent two weeks fighting one of the biggest fires in the province’s history
      • Cody says he wants to be a part of this because he wants to protect his elders
      • He has since suffered a sprained ankle, and is currently resting in Brandon with family
      • But he says can’t wait to get back out there with Brody to keep fighting fires until everyone is safe

    • Winnipeg Kinsmen’s donation will go towards Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation’s “Pumps for Life” Campaign
    • It’s a capital campaign to raise funds to replace all of the infusion pumps in the facility
    • The $100,000 will contribute to their goal of $900,000
    • They’ve raised $838,000 toward their goal so far
    • This campaign will help replace the 360 pumps that need replacing
