$15,000 Donation to Support Movement Centre of Manitoba

  • Since 1997, the Movement Centre of Manitoba, a registered charity, specializes in Conductive Education (CE) rehabilitation to help children and adults living with neurological disabilities such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, acquired brain injury and Parkinson's Disease.
  • The Centre receives no sustainable, long term government funding and relies solely on donations, fundraising and grants to annually raise approximately $800,000 required to provide services and subsidize fees by 65-70% ensuring cost not a barrier for Manitoba families.
  • Individuals living with neuromotor disabilities benefit in many areas including regained mobility and body control, increased independence, and improved quality of life.
  • Winnipeg Kinsmen supports the Foundation's mission to provide Conductive Education to help individuals with neuromotor conditions increase their mobility, confidence and independence in activities of daily living
  • Funds donated by Winnipeg Kinsmen will help ensure continued subsidization of program fees so that cost is not a barrier for those in need.
