50th Ball – Community Hero – Nolan De Leon

  • Nolan De Leon broke a Guinness World Record to raise money for mental health support
  • The fitness enthusiast felt deeply affected by the pandemic 
  • To help others who were feeling the same, he broke the record for the heaviest weight lifted by Turkish get-up in one hour 
  • He lifted 13,001 pounds and raised more than $3,500 for the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba
  • Nolan is already thinking about more fitness challenges he can take on in the future to help even more people
  • Thank you for being a Community Hero, Nolan!
  • To thank you for your efforts, Winnipeg Kinsmen will donate an additional $1,000 to Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba

Betty White Challenge

  • The Betty White Challenge was a huge success!
  • People all over the world came together on January 17th – what would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday –  to donate $5 to an animal shelter
  • Manitobans alone raised more than $164,000 for animal charities across the province!
  • Winnipeg Kinsmen donated $5,000 to D’Arcy’s A.R.C in honour of the late Betty White and her love for all critters
  • Once again our generous province came together for a good cause, way to go, Manitoba!

One Voice One Team Year TWO!

  • One Voice One Team is gearing up for their second year in Manitoba!
  • OVOT is a non-profit organization that provides youth leadership and empowerment programs to school-age children
  • Winnipeg Kinsmen provided funding for the first of a three-year program that focuses on:
  • The S.W.O.L.E summer camps
  • Youth employment
  • Presentations for schools
  • Anti-racist training for educators
  • Their programs blend mentorship and life skills coaching with sport and physical activities to develop the leadership abilities necessary to attain success in the biggest game of all, the game of life
